How It Works
It Covers the Questions, Your Artists Do the Quotes
Most messages are the same few questions, sent while you're mid-session. The bot answers them and collects what an artist needs to quote.
It answers from your site
Deposit, shop minimum, age and ID policy, walk-in or flash days, artists and styles, and hours. If your site doesn't say, it says it doesn't know instead of guessing.
It collects the details
For a booking request it asks what they want, where on the body and roughly how big, and when suits them, then their name and number. It doesn't quote a custom piece.
Your artist follows up
The request is emailed to you and saved in your dashboard's Leads tab. When it takes a request, it doesn't tell anyone a session is booked: you confirm it.

It answers from your own website and the info you add. If something isn't there, it says so and offers a callback instead of guessing.
"How much for a forearm piece?"
Gives the shop minimum or deposit your site lists, then explains the artist quotes after seeing the design, and asks for the idea, placement and size.
"Do you take walk-ins?"
Answers from your site, including flash days or walk-in hours you list.
"Is the deposit refundable?"
Repeats your deposit policy as your site words it, conditions included.
"Do you do cover-ups?"
Answers yes only if your site says so. If it doesn't, it says it doesn't see it and offers to have an artist get back to them.
"I'm 16, can I come in with my mom?"
Answers from your age policy, doesn't ask for the teen's name or number, and suggests a parent or guardian contact the studio.

The minimum, the deposit and the 18+ policy come from the studio's site. It didn't ask the 16-year-old for a name or number. With no age policy on your site, it doesn't make one up: it still takes no details from someone under 18 and suggests a parent or guardian contact you.

Questions from Tattoo Studios
If a visitor says or shows they're under 18, such as their age or their grade, it's built to answer simply, not ask for their name, phone or email, and suggest a parent or guardian gets in touch with you. If your site says you only tattoo clients 18 and over, it tells them that. It never asks anyone's age, so it only goes by what they say.
Only prices your site or your dashboard lists, such as a shop minimum or an hourly rate. For a custom piece it says the artist quotes after seeing the design, and asks for the idea, placement and size so your artist has what they need.
On Starter, it takes their name, number and details and emails them to you so you can call back and set a time. Growth can also book real times in the chat on BotDesk's own calendar, checked against your calendar link. On Pro, you can add your online booking link and it sends people there when they're ready.

Under 18. It's built to tell anyone who says they're under 18 that the studio can't book them, and it won't ask for their name, number or email.
Quotes. It's built to never price a custom tattoo without the artist seeing the design. It can give a shop minimum or deposit your site lists, then asks for the idea, placement and size.
Health. It's built to never give medical advice. For a healing tattoo that looks wrong, it tells them to contact the studio, and to get medical help if it's getting worse.
