What the free plan doesn't do

No lead capture
The bot answers questions, but it won't collect a visitor's name and phone number for you. Lead capture starts on Starter at $29/month.
A hard cap at 50
After the 50th conversation in a month, the bot stops answering until the 1st. Visitors see a short note asking them to browse your site or contact you directly, and we email you once.
A "Powered by BotDesk" badge
The badge stays on Free and Starter. Growth and Pro remove it.
5 pages of knowledge
That covers most small sites. Bigger sites need Starter (15 pages), Growth (50) or Pro (500).

Upgrading
When should you upgrade?
Stay on Free for as long as it covers you. These four signs mean it no longer does.
- Visitors ask for a callback and you never get their number. Starter ($29/month) collects each visitor's name and phone and emails them to you.
- You hit the 50-conversation cap. If the "free conversations used up" email arrives two months running, your bot goes quiet for part of every month. Any paid plan removes the limit.
- You want the chat to carry only your brand. Growth ($59/month) removes the BotDesk badge and adds instant price estimates from your own price list.
- You take bookings online. Pro ($99/month) sends visitors to your own Calendly, Acuity or Square booking page.
Your setup carries over when you upgrade, so you don't start from scratch.
